California Bowl is exactly what you'd expect: decent food at an affordable price. It's basic, think bento box-level quality, but it gets the job done. The staff is friendly, and you can't really complain when you're getting what you pay for. It's not going to blow your mind, but it's a solid choice when you're craving something simple and cheap
Outstanding customer service. The girl is super nice and welcoming. The food tastes really good! We've tried the California rolls, crunch rolls, tempura rolls, egg rolls and the bbq chicken with rice. Definitely recommend. Very affordable and worth the price.
This is an updated review. The quality of California Bowl in East Hollywood has improved greatly. It is one of the few places I can get a nice plate of eel and rice (Unagi Bowl) and the prices are reasonable for what you get. The salmon salad is also quite good, as well as the sushi, which while not approaching the quality of the better sushi bars in town, is more than adequate for a lunch break from work.
This place offers incredible food at excellent prices--highly recommended! The staff is also incredibly friendly, making the experience even better.
i live right around the corner from California bowl so it's very convenient to grab something that's fast yet not so fast food. My go to is either their bbq chicken and beef bento box or beef or chicken bowl. Which are absolutely delicious!! Their tempura is a little heavy on the batter side but I like it that way. It's extra crispy and so delicious. I've always ordered for pick up so it's really hard to speak on the service but every time I've been there I've never had an issue. Over all the food is pretty tasty, reasonably priced, and the portions are good.
Love their hungry roll , but their parking is a B..... so order to go tbh ! Their customer service is great ! °
